What a cookie does here

A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device. We use two kinds: one that is needed to make the site work, and one with which we measure anonymously which pages are visited. We only place that second kind after you have given permission for it.

Necessary

This covers only remembering your cookie choice itself. Without it you would get the question again on every page. This data stays on your own device and is not sent anywhere. No permission is needed for this, because it is purely functional.

Statistics

By default we measure, anonymously and without cookies, which pages are visited and how visitors use the site. You can switch that off below or via the link in the footer. That helps us see which explanation is evidently not clear. We do not build profiles, we do not link anything to your name and we do not use the data for advertising.

If you switch this off, the site works exactly the same. There is no feature whatsoever behind this permission.

Changing your choice

Your choice is stored on your own device and applies to this browser. You can change it at any moment through the cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. If you clear your browser data, we will ask again.
